No. A referral is not necessary. Physiotherapists are first line practitioners which means that you can go directly to your physio without having to go to a doctor first.
However, if you do have a referral, please bring it so we can call the doctor if required. Please note that if you have hurt yourself at work and you are covered through an IOD (Injury on Duty) claim, you do need a referral and a COIDA reference number from the Compensation Commissioner.
Please bring the following items only if you have them
Loose, comfortable clothing is recommended. For neck problems, the Physiotherapist may ask you to remove your top. For back, a hip and knee problem, the Physiotherapist is likely to ask you to remove your trousers. If required, we have shorts and gowns to allow for privacy and access to the injured area.
The first appointment is 45 - 60 minutes. Follow-up appointments are 30 - 40 minutes.
Opening hours are shown on the contact page
We charge Medical Aid rates.
NB: Treatments for chests and sinus are shorter and therefore billed at a lower rate.
We are contracted in to all South African Medical Aids, thus we claim directly from them on your behalf. For private patients payment is required immediately after your consultation. We accept cash, credit and debit cards. WCA will also be claimed directly if all documentation is in order.
Yes, a minimum of 4 hours cancellation time is allowed before your treatment. If cancelled within 4 hours from your appointment, the treating physiotherapist may charge an amount at his/her own discretion.
A hearing test is a simple, non-invasive procedure. An Audiologist will ask the client to press a response button every time he / she hears a sound, some will be loud and some will be softer. This test is usually done first using earphones and then testing responses through a bone conductor.
The Audiologist will also test the client's ability to discriminate between words and sounds by reading him / her a list of words which the client has to repeat to the Audiologist.
This entire procedure usually takes about 20 - 30 minutes and the results are discussed with the client/s after the test. According to the results, recommendations will be made and discussed and the client will have time to ask questions.
Hearing tests must be done annually, even if you do not suspect a hearing loss yet. If you already have hearing aids, it is still important to have your ears tested annually to document any changes in your hearing loss and to adjust the hearing aid accordingly.
Most medical aids pay for hearing tests and hearing aids. We will gladly phone your medical aid on your behalf to confirm your benefits before testing.
Yes, we have discounted private rates specifically for hearing tests paid privately. Contact us today for an appointment.
